2015 Seattle Bot Brawl at Robothon
Another great showing for our kit bots at the Western Allied Robotics Seattle Bot Brawl, which was held in conjunction with Robothon at Seattle Center. In the antweight division, one of our Ant1 kit-bots finished 4th overall out of a field of 19 antweight bots, only losing out to 3 high-end antweight spinner bots built from carbon fiber and titanium. A very good showing! In the beetleweight division, D2 kit-bots finished 1st, 3rd, and 4th overall, out of a field of 13 beetleweight bots. First and third place were taken by two younger contestants in their second combat robot experience,...
2015 Kenworthy Krunch
We had another good showing at the summer Western Allied Robotics combat event. A D2 kit using our prototype titanium blade won overall, after a difficult match versus Allosaurus. Allosaurus is a very capable vertical spinner which has won many of the Western Allied Robotics matches. The final fight included several tosses of the D2 robot against the roof of the arena by Allosaurus, but the durability of the D2 kept it fighting strongly to the end, finally managing to maneuver Allosaurus into the pit. This was an excellent test of the tool steel axles in our 22mm combat robot...
2015 Seattle Bot Battles
Another good showing for our D2 combat robot kit at the Seattle Bot Battles event. One of our D2 robots finished 2nd overall in the 3 pound “beetleweight” division. The final match was very exciting, as the D2 fought a very successful vertical spinner “Allosaurus”, with the match going to a judges decision. Congratulations to Allosaurus for the overall win!
D2 Combat Robot - Prototype test fight video
This is a video of our “D2” 3 pound (beetleweight) combat robot prototype fighting the horizontal spinning blade robot “Debacle”. With the prototype, our main goal was testing durability, so if the driving strategy of D2 in this video looks strange, it’s because the goal was to see how this combat robot prototype holds up hitting a horizontal spinning weapon.
